Shriner Circus

I feel like a downer, but I didn't enjoy the circus like I thought I would. I felt like I was getting ripped off the whole time. I've never been to a circus before and saw an ad for the Shriner Circus this past weekend. Figured it would be nice to take Kai since it was free admission for kids and the money went to the shriner's.

It was all the way in Scottsdale, so about 30 minutes, when I got there they charged for parking, wish they would of stated that somewhere, instead of when you get right to the parking lot. A few people in front of me had to turn around to get to an atm or whatever. I only had a 20 on me, and the guy made a rude comment along the lines of "Why does everyone have 20's? Give me a freaking break here, I only have so much change." That was simply off putting and I should of just left right then and there.

He told me the pass had to go on my dash, but I had my window down and didn't want it to fly away so I held it in my hand as I made my way to the parking lot. The first attendant in the lot threw a fit that my pass wasn't in the dash, and yelled at the next guy that I didn't pay the toll. So they stopped my car and he took the pass from my hand and stuck it in my dash, and said I should follow the rules or not park here. (Seriously WTF?)

Admission for me was 15 dollars, at this point I was already pissed off, so I just didn't care anymore. Food was expensive and okay, the activities they had for kids was also expensive, so Kai didn't get to do anything but watch the show. The acts themselves were okay, I was impressed with the quick change artists, and some of the acrobatics. It was hard to take it all in when three or four acts were on at once.

I'm not sure we will be going to another one of these events, but rather donate money next time. Kai had fun and really that's all that matters to me.
